For our client Belgium Sotheby’s Realty—a high-end real estate agency that is part of an international network—we, as the communication agency in Brussels, developed a new website to modernize its image and align it with that of the international group.
The AD strategists at our agency gathered to analyze Sotheby’s specific audience and design a structure aimed at enhancing user experience and understanding of their services. The result embodies the motto of A. de Saint-Exupéry: perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to remove.

Understanding your target audience allows you to develop effective digital communication. Through several interviews with Sotheby’s employees from different departments who are in regular contact with clients, we were able to analyze and understand the intended audience for this site. This enabled us to develop a content structure tailored to their needs.
Based on the graphic charter of Sotheby’s International Realty, we created a subtle and elegant design that highlights Sotheby’s familiarity and closeness with its clients. We played with the codes by presenting properties like a magazine: fresh presentation, strong visuals, and engaging call to actions. The “Marketing Cover” page was also a well-thought-out work, created from three pages of the old site. We merged the information and trimmed it down to create a neat page that goes straight to the point.
Everything was, of course, designed to be mobile and tablet-friendly to offer the best user experience.
We not only developed custom filters to facilitate property searches, a client account to save favorite properties and create alerts, and intuitive and pleasant navigation; we also integrated the “Whise” software, an independent platform designed for real estate agencies to manage properties across different platforms. The challenge was to overcome some of the software’s constraints to offer users an optimal digital experience! A complex development, indeed, but well executed. Do you think we met the challenges?
